Mason Filippi and the #12 Copeland Motorsports Hyundai Veloster N TCR flew to the TCR race 1 pole in Las Vegas after posting a fastest lap of 1:42.225, nearly a half second faster than his closest rival. “The car that Copeland Motorsports gave me was awesome. The Pirelli P Zero tires are great here at Vegas and I can’t wait to get to the race tomorrow, it’s going to be fun!” said Filippi.
Nate Vincent and the #72 FCP Euro VW Golf GTI TCR will start from the second position after a best lap of 1:42.715. Victor Gonzalez will start third after a fastest lap of 1:42.810 in the #99 VGMC Honda Civic Type R TCR.
Michael McCann Jr will start fourth in the #3 McCann Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR with championship leader Michael Hurczyn starting fifth in the #71 FCP Euro VW Golf GTI TCR.
Stephen Vajda claimed the TCR Cup-class pole, starting sixth overall, in his #18 EXR Team by Premat Audi RS3 LMS TCR DSG.
In TCA it was the #61 MINI JCW Team Mini Cooper of Mat Pombo leading the way after a 1:52.586 fastest lap time.
Chris Haldeman will start second in class in the #69 X-Factor Racing Honda Civic Si after a best lap of 1:52.627, a mere four-hundredths of a second behind the pole sitter.
Tomas Mejia will start third in the #62 MINI JCW Team Mini Cooper, just ahead of his teammate, Mark Pombo, who will start fourth in the #59 MINI JCW Team Mini Cooper. Points leader Nick Wittmer rounds out the top five in the #91 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ tS.
