Touring Cars Battle It Out for Positioning in the High Desert

Thermal, Calif. - Cars representing TCR, TC and TCA classes navigated the Thermal Club's 2.91-mile configuration for the final practice rounds of the Winter Invitational series. The six-round series completes this weekend at Southern California's private pavement racetrack.

Leading the charge for the TCR cars this weekend was the No. 04 DXDT Honda Civic Type R TCR driven by CJ Moses. Moses piloted the car to a class-leading fast time of 2:13.589-seconds. This series marks his first foray into TCR competition, having previously run in SRO America's GT4 classes.

AutoTechnic Racing's Tom Capizzi took the No. 52 BMW M4 240iR to a fast lap of 2:17.590-seconds good enough to pace the Touring Car challengers for the day's practice sessions.

The Milgore Motorsports Mazda Global MX-5 Cup ND1 completed the 2.91-mile circuit with a fast time of 2:26.663-seconds with John Geesebreght behind the wheel of the No. 68 car.

Touring Car competitors take to the track for qualifying at 11:25 am, with the first of the TC double-header races going green at 2:15 pm.
