Thermal, Calif. - The 2019-2020 Winter Invitational at The Thermal Club wrapped up its Touring Car class competitions with Lara Tallman taking the win home for the sixth and final round.
Tallman, driving the #3 Rearden Racing Nissan 370Z TC, executed the series-long podium sweep and her third win with the finish on Sunday.
AutoTechnic Racing's Tom Capizzi took his #52 BMW M240iR to its second consecutive weekend podium celebration as he slotted into second place mere fractions of a second behind Tallman.
Finally, keeping the weekend podium triad alive, AutoTechnic Racing teammate Bruce Robson held off the other competitors and delivered a third-place performance to take home the hardware.
In the end-of-the-series celebrations, Classic BMW driver John Rader was awarded a paid regular-season Single Event entry by lottery.
"I am very pleased with the reception of our inaugural Winter Invitational series competitions for Touring Car competitors," said Jim Jordan, Director of Touring Car America. "And I am happy that the experience provided here has translated into regular-series participation for four of our Winter Series competitors. It means that we have achieved the high level of customer service that the SRO strives to acheive, and that the Winter Series is not only an enjoyable between-season series but also a viable entry-level feeder path into SRO competition."
