It has been 16 seasons since most of this team, then contracted to run as Champion Racing, under the Audi Sport North America banner, has competed in World Challenge competition. From 2001-2004 team manager Louis Milone and business partner Kevin Wheeler, along with expert #1 technician Mark Landis and the engineering of Tim Munday (of BAM LeMans fame) moved the home base from Boca Raton, Florida to the near by Pompano Beach, Florida to help take Champion Racing to 4 strait seasons of World Challenge GT championships. With drivers from the likes of multi time World Challenge champion Michael Galati, The legendary Derek Bell, to 2003 WC drivers champion, Randy Pobst. This team has experienced it all, at the highest level.
Back at the home base in Boca Raton, After a successful day of SRO testing at Miami Homestead last week, on the new 2020 Pirelli tire, and the 2020 specification Total Racing Fuel, The team has moved a good part of its resources back into the sprint format, with driver Roy Block, a 5 season veteran of professional touring car racing, and multi time winner, in endurance format. Block will be competing in one of the teams Alfa Romeo Gulietta TCR RF’s in the TC America TCR class, Against such rivals as Audi, Hyundai, and Honda.
The truck is ready to roll out of South Florida for the opening round of 2020. Activities take place March 5th through 8th in Austin, Texas at the world famous Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
