TC America driver Chandler Hull had an impressive pro debut season in 2019 finishing third overall in the TC Driver's Championship. Impressive given the 25-year-old #94 Copart BimmerWorld Racing BMW M240i driver only started racing a short four years ago. Hull closed out 2019 strong with a couple of second place finishes at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and picked up where he left off this season with two consistent results, a fourth and a fifth, at his home track, Circuit of The Americas. We asked the Dallas, Texas based racer seven questions for this edition of Driver Download.

How was COTA?
COTA was great! Since I live in Dallas, COTA is the nearest full-fledged circuit to me, so I have plenty of experience there and consider it my home track. This year was an awesome weekend as I came out with solid points and was able to do so in front of my family and friends.
How did you get into racing?
I started doing track days and got really into it and needed more. I eventually got connected with the BimmerWorld guys and I am glad I did.
What is your favorite racing memory?
My first pro podium at VIR last year. Since VIR is BimmerWorld’s home track, it made a special moment even more special.
What’s the story behind your helmet design?
I have two new helmets on the way that are more “me” and a big departure from the “normal” helmets you see. But the helmet I used last year was my first attempt at designing one. Mike, from Savage Designs helped bring my vision to reality and it turned out great!
Something interesting about you or a talent?
Most people don’t know because I’m usually all about cars and racing, but I almost went to art school after High School. I wanted to be a car designer or an architect, so I love architecture and all things design.
If you could invite three people to dinner (living or dead) who would it be and why?
1. Ayrton Senna, I think most race drivers would choose him because there are so many questions to ask him.
2. Daniel Ricciardo, he’s hilarious and seems to be pretty good at this whole racing thing.
3. Frank Lloyd Wright, he was so far ahead of his time in architecture and design, it would be awesome to pick his brain.
You’ve taken a less traditional route to professional racing. After participating in local Porsche Club of America’s Driver Education events, at 21, you had your first on-track experience. What flicked the switch at those events that hooked you to go racing?
My path to racing is different. I bought myself a track weekend with PCA for my 21st birthday without telling anyone and it quickly started to consume every free weekend I had and all the money I had saved. After about a year and a half of doing those events, I needed more of a thrill. Luckily, I had met a teammate, Cameron Evans, and he taught me everything I needed to do in order to start club racing. I spent all of 2018 driving across the country doing every event I could in order to get as much experience as I could since I was about a decade behind, ha-ha. Then in 2019, with the help of the guys at BimmerWorld, I made my professional debut in TC America and the rest is history!
