Streimer Joins Schwartz in HARD Motorsport VIR Campaign

7 July 2020 TC

SPOKANE, Wash.  –  HARD Motorsport announced today Steve Streimer will join the team for the upcoming Touring Car race of the SRO TC America road racing series at VIR, July 9-12, 2020.  Streimer and HARD Motorsport driver Johan Schwartz were teammates last year and look forward to being under the same tent again.  Schwartz is championing the No. 31 BMW M240iR featuring HARD Motorsport for the full season and Streimer will run his No. 81 BMW M240iR also featuring HARD Motorsport for this VIR race weekend.

Adam Harding, team principal for HARD Motorsport Racing, is excited to expand the team.  “Steve coming on board is a great fit.  Steve and Johan worked very well together last year and our Crew Chief Brent Tedder was their engineer last year, so synergies are already in place.  Having Steve on board is especially meaningful as he also hails from the Pacific Northwest,” stated Harding.

"We went into the first race weekend at COTA a newly formed team.  We had only weeks to prep Johan’s car and our team met for the first time at COTA," Harding shared.  "Considering the challenges and timing we were pleased with a 3rd and 4th place finish at COTA, but are striving for even better at VIR."

HARD Motorsport will be the featured partner with support sponsors of Instrumart, Diamond Creek Water, Speed Seat, Scope Concepts, Tedder Engineering, and Streimer Sheet Metal.

“This race weekend will definitely feel different due to the Corona Virus situation,” said Schwartz. “SRO has done a great job implementing social distancing and safety for this race to go on. There will be no spectators and limited crew only.  I expect there will be a huge spectator base watching the live coverage, so it’s a great moment to promote HARD Motorsport and our sponsors."

The Touring Car class season is fourteen 40-minute races over seven race weekends.  SRO TC America has changed the format for the Touring Car class this year with TC, TCR and TCA running together.  Upcoming race weekends and venues: VIRginia International Raceway (June 5-7), Sonoma Raceway (August 7-9), Road America (August 28-30), Watkins Glen (September 18-20) and Indianapolis (October 1-3).
