Indianapolis, Ind. - TC America competitors close out their 2020 seasons at The Racing Capital of the World, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a 2.4 mile, 13-turn road course in Speedway, Indiana.
TCR Runners-up Contenders Close Out at Indy
Nine TCR competitors line up led by newly-crowned class champion Tyler Maxson and the #74 Copeland Motorsports Hyundai Veloster N TCR. Maxson has won an impressive eleven times during the season and looks to cap off his crown with two wins in Indy.
DXDT Racing bring along the #04 Honda Civic Type-R TCR for CJ Moses who currently sits fifth in the championship standings. Scott Smithson, winner of Race 3 at COTA, will pilot the #17 Honda with Olivia Askew driving the #29.
KMR Motorsports w/ TMR Engineering enters two Alfa Romeo Giuliettas with Roy Block, who recently finished an impressive second place in Race 3 at COTA, in the #5 and Tim Lewis Jr driving the #55.
New German Performance enters the #44 Audi RS3 LMS for Tristan Herbert, who returns to the grid for the first time since Rounds 3 and 4 at VIR.
VVL Systems & Consulting will field the #88 Audi RS3 LMS for Vinnie Lima, who also returns to racing for the first time since VIR.
VGMC Racing and Victor Gonzalez Jr, second in the championship, bring the #99 Honda Civic Type-R TCR. Gonzalez Jr grabbed a pair of third place finishes last time out at COTA.
Two Races, Two TC Championship Titles
Thirteen TC-classed competitors will line up with BimmerWorld leading the way with championship leader James Clay piloting the #36 BMW M240iR. Clay has won four times in 2020 and took a pair of second-place finishes at COTA to increase his championship lead. Chandler Hull, fourth in the title hunt, will drive the #94 entry.
VGMC Racing enter the #8 Honda Civic Type-R for Ruben Iglesias.
Classic BMW enters an army of BMW M240iRs with Phil Bloom driving the #11, Toby Grahovec, who won Race 1 at COTA and is hot on the heels of Clay for the Driver Championship, in the #26, Bryson Lew driving the #27, and Ally Raphael in the #82.
Auto Technic Racing bring the #20 BMW M240iR for Rob Slonaker, who currently sits seventh in the championship standings. Tom Capizzi, currently fifth in the championship, will drive the #52 BMW.
Hard Motorsport return with the #31 BMW M240iR for 2019 class Champion Johan Schwartz, who sits third in the championship going into the season’s final weekend.
LA Honda World will field two Honda Civic Type-Rs with Mike LaMarra driving the #37 and Mat Pombo in the #73. Pombo grabbed two top-ten finishes in the team’s season debut at COTA.
FTG Racing and Joey Jordan return with the #70 Mazda 3, which continues to improve during its developmental season.
The Chase for the TCA Championships End Here
Twelve cars are entered for TCA with Kevin Boehm and the #9 Boehm Racing Honda Civic Si leading the way by a narrow margin in the championship race. Boehm took two wins at COTA, his fourth and fifth of the season, after a string of strong runs that started at Road America.
MTP Motorsports make their series debut with the #14 Hyundai Veloster Turbo for Max Peichel.
CB Motorsports will field two Hyundai Veloster Ns for Caleb Bacon, driving the #18 entry, and Matt Forbush piloting the #33.
TechSport Racing bring four Subaru BRZ tS machines for Damon Surzshyn in the #24, PJ Groenke in the #25, team owner/driver Kevin Anderson in the #28, and late addition returning in the #22 Eric Powell.
MINI JCW Team will field a trio of MINI Cooper JCWs with Tomas Mejia, who sits second in the championship, piloting the #60 entry. Mark Pombo, who finished second after a race-long battle with his brother during Race 3 at COTA, will drive the #61 with Clayton Williams driving the #62.
VGMC Racing enters the #178 Honda Civic Si for Jonathan Newcombe, who currently sits fifth in the championship standings.
CCR Team TFB will bring the #186 Honda Civic Si for Roy Fulmer IV.
