Tyler Gonzalez Aims to Carry COTA Momentum to Indianapolis

Coming off of a triple podium weekend at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA), Copeland Motorsports driver Tyler Gonzalez is determined to carry his recent success and momentum into the final TC America event this coming weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). Sitting third in the championship points battle and an outside shot at levelling up to second, Gonzalez will look to add to both his 2020 podium and win total.

"We have had a good season but some of our race results were hindered by some bad racing luck," explained Gonzalez. "The goal is simple this weekend and I want to close the season on top. A pair of wins in Indy is what I am aiming for and I am confident that we can be successful."

Competing alongside the NTT IndyCar Series and the International GT Challenge program, there will be several different series in action at the famed Speedway. With track time at a premium, Gonzalez will look to get up to speed on Thursday in his two practice sessions before qualifying that afternoon.

Gonzalez added, "Multiple series brings multiple tire compounds and that is the only concern that I have this weekend. Sometimes that compounds do not mix and provides for a very loose handling race car, but we will take it all in stride and see how it goes. I have complete confidence in the Hyundai brand and Copeland Motorsports that we will be able to climb to the top step of the podium in Indy."

With practice getting underway on Thursday, October 1, qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action will take place on Friday before racing continues throughout the event weekend for the final two races of 2020.
