Ruud/BMW Kings of Qualifying at Circuit of the Americas

Austin, Texas - Championship leader Jacob Ruud was the class of the field during qualifying for the TC America presented by Skip Barber Racing Schools Round 3 race at Circuit of the Americas. Ruud ran a best lap of 2:22.933 to claim the TCX pole, a whopping 3.3 seconds faster than his nearest rival, Steve Streimer in the #30 Hard Motorsport BMW. Samantha Tan, making her TCX debut this weekend, will start the #438 BMW third with Roy Block’s #5 BMW fourth and the #50 BMW of John Hennessey fifth.

The TC pole went to Josef Federl in the #23 TechSport Racing Nissan with a best lap of 2:27.690, just ahead of Mike LaMarra’s #37 LA Honda World Racing’s Honda Civic Type-R and Eric Powell’s #92 Honda. 2020 TCA title holder Kevin Boehm will start the #9 DXDT Honda from fourth in class with Mark Pombo and the debuting #60 Mini Cooper GP3 fifth.

Caleb Bacon flew to the TCA-class pole in the #18 Forbush Hyundai with a best time of 2:33.930. Carter Fartuch will start the #16 Skip Barber Racing Schools Honda second in class with the #61 Mini of Derek Jones rounding out the top three.
