Saturday’s TC America Powered by Skip Barber Racing School qualifying session set the grid for the first of two races at Sebring International Raceway. After an incident in practice that damaged the #81 BMW M2 CS Cup Classic BMW entry, Jacob Ruud rebounded to claim pole with a time of 2:20.398, three tenths quicker than the #5 BMW of Roy Block. Block will start on the outside of the front row in the KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering car in the TCX class. Road America race winner Stephen Cugliari in the #57 BMW M2 CS Cup for Accelerating Performance qualified 5th.

On a mission to make up points on the TC championship leader, the #9 Honda Civic Type-R of Kevin Boehm with DXDT Racing won pole in the TC class with a time of 2:23.593. Boehm will start alongside the #60 MINI JCW PRO TC of Derek Jones, whose lap time of 2:24.680 placed Jones second in class. TC points leader Eric Powell qualified 11th in TC, but his Skip Barber Racing School team must make repairs after an incident in turn 10 during the session.

The #16 Honda Civic Si of Carter Fartuch, driving for Skip Barber Racing School, won the pole for TCA for the first race of the weekend with a time of 2:31.568. Fartuch’s best lap was 0.9 seconds faster than the #22 Toyota 86 driven by Devin Anderson for TechSport Racing, who will start on the outside of the front row in the TCA category.
