Sonoma, California - The TC America series powered by Skip Barber Racing School kicked off the 2022 season with the first practice under sunny skies at the Sonoma Speedway with a total of 31 cars taking to the track.
The #54 BMW M2 CS driven by Garrett Adams of Fast Track Racing led the field from the drop of the green flag with the fastest lap time of 1:53.544. Rounding out the TCX field was #30 BMW M2 CS with Steve Streimer behind the wheel for HARD Motorsports with the lap time of 1:54.309, followed by #26 BMW M2 CS Lucas Cantania of Rigid Speed at 1:55.476 respectively.
Leading the TC field was #9 Honda Civic Type-R, piloted by Kevin Boehm, Skip Barber Racing with the fastest time of 1:54.148. He was followed by #60 Mini Cooper JCW Pro TC Clay Williams of MINI JCW Team with a time of 1:55:542. Rounding out the top three was #42 Honda Civic Type-R with Ken Fukuda of Skip Barber Racing School putting down a time of 1:55.542.
TCA leader was the #21 Subaru BRZ, driven by Graham Wagner of TechSport Racing with the fastest time of 2:00.005. He was followed by #5 Honda Civic Si Spencer Bucknum of LA Honda World Racing with a time of 2:00.016. In third place was #16 Honda Civic Si FE1 with Carter Fartuch or Skip Barber Racing School with a time of 2:00.732.
