ALTON, Va. -- Rounds three and four of the TC America TCA championship have arrived for Ben Bettenhausen and TechSport Racing. Over a month and a half since the season opening rounds at Circuit of the Americas in March Bettenhausen and the No. 95 Subaru BRZ tS will compete in the second event of the season at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR).
Despite the break between races, Bettenhausen kept busy on track, testing at New Jersey Motorsports Park and racing in the Hoosier Super Tour at VIR a week later. Every lap of the Super Tour weekend will assist Bettenhausen’s run this weekend, only his second race weekend in the SRO-sanctioned TC America series.
This is my second official race in the World Challenge, and I have been training extensively for this weekend because the VIR track is very challenging and demands excellent focus," says Bettenhausen. "I'm super excited to race this weekend. This is truly an amazing dream that has come true."
The TCA and TCR fields will have two practice sessions on Friday before qualifying on Saturday morning, April 27. Race one will run for forty minutes and take place Saturday afternoon at 3:55PM Eastern, and Bettenhausen’s fastest lap in race one will determine his starting position for race two on Sunday, April 28 at 3:15PM. Both races will stream live on the GT World YouTube page as well as www.tcamerica.us, where fans can also find live timing all event information.
