Avondale, Louisiana - The TC America Powered by Skip Barber field returned to the track under the hot Louisiana sun for their final practice session of the day. As temperatures continued to rise throughout the afternoon, the thirty-minute session served as an important opportunity for the drivers to test their limits ahead of qualifying on Saturday morning.
The TC America field was treated to a caution-free 30-minute session, which allowed them to further tune up their machines. It seems that most teams were able to find their perfect setups, as most drivers were separated by mere tenths. Dai Yoshihara was the only driver able to clock in a time under the 1:49 mark.
TCX
Professional drifter Daijiro (Dai) Yoshihara was the one to catch in the No. 99 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R TCX, soaring to the top of the leaderboard early in the session and remained there for the entirety of the session thanks to a rapid time of 1:48.661. Kyle Loh, who set the fastest time in the first practice session this morning, was in hot pursuit in the No. 73 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Type-R TCX and finished just behind in second place.
Lucas Catania claimed third place for the second time today in his No. 26 Rigid Speed Company BMW M2 CS (Cup).
TC
Jeff Rica and Michael Hurczyn continued their battle from this morning, both pursuing the top spot once more. Ricca took the lead early in the session on board the No. 78 Genracer / Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TC, with Hurczyn closely behind in his No. 8 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R. This time around, it was Ricca who had the upper hand and claimed the top spot as the chequered flag waved, with Hurczyn slotting in just behind him.
Celso Neto proved his consistency once again, finishing in third place just as he did in the morning session in his No. 7 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Type-R.
TCA
Spencer Bucknum initially took the early lead in the session on board his No. 5 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Si FE1, but was quickly challenged by the likes of William Lambros in the No. 77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE1. Lambros went on to secure the best time in the class, but the two were narrowly separated, with only 0.001 seconds between the two.
Mario Biundo, who was second-fastest in the first practice session in his No. 7 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Si, was bumped to third for the second session with the margins remaining incredibly slim between the top three competitors.
