Circuit Of The Americas is gearing up to host the third round of the TC America Powered by Skip Barber championship, with a total of 26 drivers across three classes ready to tackle the 20-turn, 3.425-mile racetrack. Following two majorly exciting races at NOLA Motorsports Park, the crowds can expect more wheel-to-wheel over the course of the weekend under the hot Texan sun.
TCX
The TCX field continues to serve up unpredictability at every twist and turn, and the upcoming weekend in the Lone Star state will surely be no different. Kyle Loh raced to victory in the NOLA double-header courtesy of his No. 73 Honda Civic Type-R TCX, giving LA Honda World Racing many reasons to celebrate. Colin Garrett had a successful weekend, stepping onto the podium twice in the previous round after securing second and third-place finishes in the No. 44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup).
Lucas Catania took home a third-place result in Race Two in the No. 26 Rigid Speed Company BMW M2 CS (Cup), with Joseph Catania accompanying him once again in the No. 24 car. Fast Track Racing will be represented by teammate pairing Adam Gleason in the No. 21 BMW M2 CS (Cup), and Maddie Aust in the No. 09 machine.
Finally, Kenny Schmied and Christopher DeFreitas will complete the grid in the No. 14 AOA Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) and the No. 93 Ian Lacy Racing Honda Civic Type-R TCX.
TC
Jeff Ricca has had a flawless start to the season with four victories in four races, however he will be abroad racing at Nürburgring instead of in the No. 78 Genracer / Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TC. Teammate Sally McNulty could inherit Ricca’s good luck. She will proudly represent the Genracer name, driving in the No. 780 Hyundai Veloster N DCT TC.
Celso Neto was the runner-up in both Louisiana races, securing a strong haul of points for Skip Barber Racing School, and will be on the hunt for more podiums in Texas in his No. 7 Honda Civic Type-R. Kris Valdez also returns as the lone representative for DRS, occupying the No. 11 Honda Civic Type-R.
Clayton Williams and Cristian Perocarpi exchanged podium positions across the weekend, with Perocarpi finishing in third in Race One, and Williams doing the same in Race Two. The two will be back behind the wheel of their No. 37 and No. 60 MINI JCW Team Mini JCW Pro TCs in search of more trophies.
TCA
Spencer Bucknum and LA Honda World Racing are riding high after completing a clean sweep in New Orleans in the No. 5 Honda Civic Si FE1 in the last round. He will be joined by teammate Mario Biundo in the No. 07 Honda Civic Si.
TechSport Racing was competitive as always, with Devin Anderson scooping up another podium in the previous round in his No. 22 Subaru BRZ. Anderson’s teammate, Shaoyi Che, finished just shy of the podium, crossing the line in fourth place in both races in the No. 23 sister car.
William Lambros proved his consistency after securing two second-place finishes in NOLA, providing some of the most thrilling battles of the weekend on board the No. 77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE1. Cooper Broll will drive alongside him, representing the team in the No. 19 Honda Civic Si FE1.
MINI JCW Team had mixed results the last time out, as Canadian driver P.J. Groenke picked up a third-place finish in Race One, However, in Race Two he and teammate Landon Lewis were unable to finish their respective races in the No. 62 and 63 Mini JCW cars. Redemption surely feels necessary this time around in Austin.
