- Results Race One
Race One went green under heavy cloud cover at Circuit Of The Americas with the TC America powered by Skip Barber. The three-class series put competitors on track for a 40-minute sprint race around the 3.425-mile, 20-turn circuit. A total of 26 cars made up the grid with five manufacturers competing for the win.
TCX Class
The TCX Class was covered with clouds and smoke thanks to winner Lucas Catania in the No. 26 Rigid Speed Company BMW M2 CS. Catania had white clouds of smoke pouring out of the back end through the final 15 minutes of the race. The white clouds proving to be anything but a problem as he fought side by side with the No. 44 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS of Colin Garrett and the No. 09 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS of Maddie Aust.
Catania took the lead from pole-sitter Dai Yoshihara who quickly came under attack by Catania pushed by Garrett. Yoshihara in the No. 99 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R was surrounded by the Catania, Garret and Aust as well as Adam Gleason in the No. 21 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS. It was the likes of Catania, Garrett and Aust who would swap paint and positions throughout the race. Aust leading much of the second half before Catania made a push for the lead in the final three minutes.
TC Class
In the TC Class Clayton Williams in the No. 60 MINI JCW Team Mini JCW Pro won after a consistent back and forth with pole sitter Celso Neto. In the opening, minutes looked as if Celso Neto would go from pole to green to checkered without issue in the No. 7 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Type-R. However, Williams garnered speed, closed the gap and made the pass for the lead within the first 10 minutes of the race. The two would go back and forth, side by side until the Williams made the final pass on the final lap.
Behind William and Neto was Michael Hurczyn in the No. 8 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R. While Hurczyn may not have been within striking distance to lead, he was a man on the mission and gained four positions throughout the race.
TCA Class
Devin Anderson made quick work of taking over pole sitter William Lambros for the TCA Class win. Anderson gained three positions in the opening minutes in his No. 22 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ. Lambros held on tightly to second place allowing for only a .625-second gap to be created between his No. 77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE and Anderson. Lambros was followed closely by Spencer Bucknum in the No. 5 LA Honda World Honda Civic Si FE with only a .257 gap between the two Honda race cars.
