TC America Powered by Skip Barber Set the Scene at Indianapolis in Practice One

As heavy clouds began to fill the morning skies over Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the TC America Powered by Skip Barber field took off for Practice One to set their final race weekend of the year in motion. A total of 26 cars across three classes utilized the opening 30 minute session to familiarize themselves with the Brickyard, testing their limits around all 14 corners of the road course. The drivers were able to make the most of their time on track as the entirety of the session ran green. 

TCX

Adam Gleason set the benchmark early into the morning’s practice session in his No. 21 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup), but it was newcomer Jackson Lee who soared to the top of the leaderboard in the final minutes in his No. 808 AOA Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) thanks to a rapid flying lap time of 1:36.439. Daijiro Yoshihara followed just a mere 0.022 seconds behind in second on board his No. 99 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R, with Gleason wrapping up the session in third. 

Colin Garrett, who clinched the championship in the previous round, set the fourth fastest time in his No. 44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup), and the Top 5 was completed by the likes of Kenny Schmied in the No. 14 AOA Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup).

MINI JCW Team were off to a great start, with teammates Cristian Perocarpi and Clayton Williams taking over first and second place in their No. 37 and No. 60 MINI JCW Team Mini JCW Pro TC, setting themselves up nicely for the following sessions to come. 

Jeff Ricca and Sally McNulty also wrapped up a strong session for GenRacer, as Ricca swept into third position with his No. 78 Genracer / Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TC, with McNulty following suit in fourth in her No. 780 GenRacer Hyundai Veloster N DCT TC. Kriz Valdez concluded the session in fifth place with his No. 11 DRS Honda Civic Type-R. 

TCA

There were numerous exchanges across the leaderboard in the TCA class, but it was championship contender Devin Anderson who set the fastest time in the TCA class in his No. 22 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ, separated by the thinnest of margins over Wiliam Lambros in the 77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE1, who crossed the line just 0.011 seconds behind. 

P.J. Groenke finished the session in third in his No. 62 MINI JCW Team Mini JCW, accompanied by Spencer Bucknum in fourth in the No. 5 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Si FE1, with Shaoyi Che closing out the Top 5 in his No. 23 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ.
