Against the backdrop of Sebring International Raceway's storied history and challenging twists, the TC America powered by Skip Barber field is primed to showcase their prowess in a bumpy battle for triumph. As the series serves as a pivotal gateway for emerging drivers to test their limits and expand their skills, there is no better place to learn the ins and outs of racing than at one of the most challenging circuits in North America.
With over 100 cars competing across five different series, Sebring is set to be the place to be to witness endless heart-pumping action. Beyond the on-track action, spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy access to open paddocks, autograph sessions, a Car Corral, and a pre-race grid walk during the feature Fanatec GT World Challenge America event on Sunday.
Championship storylines have already begun to emerge across all three TCX, TC, and TCA classes, but the unforgiving and demanding terrain of the old-school track provides an added layer of difficulty for the competitors to contend with in this round.
TCX Class
Chris Walsh had a perfect start to the season in the TCX Class, earning back-to-back wins in his No. 104 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M2 CS (Cup) in the opening round at Sonoma Raceway. Lucas Catania joined him on the podium with two second-place finishes in his No. 17 Rigid Speed BMW M2 CS (Cup), and will be looking to dethrone Walsh for the top step at Sebring.
Celso Neto follows closely behind, sitting third in the standings with his No. 22 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S thanks to a third-place finish in the opening race of the year. Meanwhile, Joseph Catania (No. 16 Rigid Speed BMW M2 CS (Cup)) and Cooper Broll (No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S) are tied for fourth with 18 points each, and will be looking to shake things up.
Aaron Kaplan will also be back on board the No. 18 Kaplan Racing Systems BMW M2 CS (Cup), with Christopher DeFreitas in the No. 39 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura Integra Type S.
TC Class
The points battle in the TC Class championship standings remains incredibly close heading into the next round at Sebring, with the top four competitors separated by a mere four points. Ruben Iglesias Jr. is currently at the top of the leaderboard with his No. 77 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC, with a total of 35 points.
Sally McNulty and Joey Jordan are tied for second place, with the drivers of the No. 780 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC and the No. 71 FTG Racing Mazda 3 each holding 33 points apiece. Jeff Ricca is also in the hunt in his No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC with 31 points.
MINI JCW Team will be back with their dual teammate entries of Cristian Perocarpi in the No. 37 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro and Scott Thomson in the No. 66 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro.
The grid will also be welcoming new entry Karl Hertel, who will be completing the TC grid in the No. 93 HART Alabama Honda Civic Type-R TC.
TCA Class
PJ Groenke will be looking to continue his winning streak in the TCA Class after securing the two opening victories of the season in the No. 62 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW, with Maddy Lemke back in the No. 9 Ascent Racing Honda Civic Si FE1. They will also be joined by new entry Alan Grossberg, who also competes in the GT America Powered by AWS championship, this time fielding the No. 63 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW.
