Neto Claims TCX Pole Position, Perocarpi and Groenke Fastest in TC and TCA

The TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School field had fifteen minutes on the clock to complete their Qualifying laps around Road America to set the grid for Race 1 coming up later in the day.

Celso Neto, Cristian Perocarpi, and PJ Groenke were the ones to beat in Qualifying, and will lead the TCX, TC, and TCA classes to the green flag.

TCX Class

Celo Neto had the advantage in the TCX class across every lap in the session, posting the fastest overall time of 2:24.015 in his No. 22 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S to claim pole position.

Chris Walsh qualified in second place on board his No. 104 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M2 CS (Cup) after only completing three laps, making an early trip back to pit lane before the session came to a close. Aaron Kaplan followed in third with his No. 18 Kaplan Racing Systems BMW M2 CS (Cup).

Cooper Broll and Christopher DeFreitas wrapped up the session in fourth and fifth position in their respective No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S and No. 39 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura Integra Type S.

TC Class

Cristian Perocarpi was in a class of his own, not only setting the fastest lap in the TC class but also the second-quickest time overall in his No. 37 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro. Though he went uncontested with a lap time of 2:25.056, Jeff Ricca, in his No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC, tried to close the gap but ultimately had to settle for second place.

Positions 2 through 5 were all set by Hyundai Elantra N1 TCs prepared by Ricca Autosport. Canadian driver Connor Attrell clinched the third fastest lap time aboard his No. 75 machine, while Sally McNulty set the fourth best time in class in her No. 780 entry. Ruben Iglesias Jr. rounded off the top 5 aboard his No. 77 Ricca Autosport Hyundai.

TCA Class

PJ Groenke added another ROWE Pole Position Award to his tally, and will lead the TCA pack to the line in his No. 62 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW. Alex Garcia will line up alongside him in the No. 14 Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Si FE1, followed closely by Bruce Myrehn in the No. 63 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW.
