- Walsh, Carrus Callas Raceteam Leads the Way in TCX
- MINI JCW Team On Top in TC and TCA with Perocarpi and Groenke
- Practice 2 Unofficial Results
The TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School grid returned for their second practice session of the day under cloudy skies as the rain was preparing to roll into Barber Motorsports Park. A red flag was waved in the final ten minutes, which brought the session to an early close.
In the end, it was Chris Walsh who once again soared to the top of the timesheets, while Cristian Perocarpi and PJ Groenke wrapped up a solid day at the office with the best times in the TC and TCA classes.
TCX Class
Chris Walsh and Celso Neto were back to their usual ways as the two continued to claim the fastest times back and forth, before the former went on to eventually set a time of 1:33.731 in his No. 104 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M2 CS (Cup), being the only driver to cross into the 1:33 mark, therefore making Neto settle for second.
Meanwhile, Aaron Kaplan further improved on his performance, moving himself up to third place in his No. 18 Kaplan Racing Systems BMW M2 CS (Cup) ahead of Cooper Broll in the No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S. Christopher DeFreitas concluded his day in fifth position in the No. 39 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura Integra Type S.
TC Class
Cristian Perocarpi went unrivaled in Practice 2 as his championship rival Jeff Ricca was not on track during the session. Nevertheless, the young driver set the quickest time in the TC class with his No. 37 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro, which also earned him the third-fastest time overall.
Teammates Ron Zaras and Sally McNulty were neck and neck once again, much like in Practice 1, as only 0.083 seconds separated the two No. 76 and No. 780 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC cars. Scott Thomson concluded the session in fourth place in the No. 66 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro.
TCA Class
PJ Groenke continued to set the benchmark and raise the bar in the TCA class with his No. 62 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW, putting more than half a second between himself and Alex Garcia in the No. 14 Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Si FE1.
This time, they were joined by newcomer Karl Hertel in third position in the No. 93 HART Alabama Honda Civic Si FE1.
