Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the place to be for the season finale event from October 4th to 6th, and although the championships have already been decided in all three TCX, TC, and TCA classes, everyone will still be vying to be crowned a winner at the Brickyard. Crucial points are still on the line as drivers and teams continue to fight for their final positions in the standings, and with only two 40-minute sprint races remaining, the competition will be tight.
Fans in attendance can look forward to an open paddock atmosphere with a wide range of exciting activities, including autograph sessions, local vendors, a Car Corral, and the pre-race grid walk ahead of the highly anticipated Indianapolis 8 Hour presented by AWS on Saturday. This GT-only endurance race, the longest event hosted at IMS, unites the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS championship with the Intercontinental GT Challenge.
TCX Class
Chris Walsh’s dominant performances all season long in the No. 104 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M2 CS (Cup) saw him clinch the TCX class title as he crossed the finish line in the last event at Barber Motorsports Park. With eight victories and four second-place results to his name so far, he would love nothing more than to wrap up his successful season with a win in Indy.
The same holds true for runner-up Celso Neto, who has been on the rise in the second half of the year in his No. 22 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S, challenging Walsh and taking four wins of his own. His teammate Cooper Broll sits comfortably in third in the class rankings with his No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S, but Aaron Kaplan will be seeking to push him to the very end with the No. 18 Kaplan Racing Systems BMW M2 CS (Cup). However, Christopher DeFreitas is still in the mix, sitting just a couple of points behind Kaplan in his No. 39 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura Integra Type S.
Cameron Stellar is set to join the TCX class for the closing stages, driving the No. 23 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup).
TC Class
After finishing as the runner-up in the championship battle last year, Jeff Ricca has come full circle and claimed the title in 2024 after securing consecutive victories in Birmingham with his No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N Cup. As a previous winner at IMS, he will be reaching for the top step yet again in order to finish the season on another high.
Cristian Perocarpi occupies second in the standings with his No. 37 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro, but the fight isn’t completely over as the Ricca Autosport fleet seek to raise another challenge. Sally McNulty is third on the leaderboard, and she’ll be pushing hard in her No. 780 Hyundai Elantra N Cup.
Perocarpi is joined by teammate Scott Thomson in the No. 66 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro, and recently claimed his first podium finish, but Ricca Autosport is coming equipped with a large number of entries as Connor Attrell, Vin Anatra, and Ron Zaras will take to the grid in their respective No. 75, No. 76, and No. 77 machines.
After previously competing in the Sonoma and Austin race weekends, Kriz Valdez is back in the mix with the No. 11 DRS Honda Civic Type-R TC for the final event.
TCA Class
PJ Groenke was untouchable in the TCA class, wrapping up his campaign early after building up a sizable points lead with his No. 62 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW. With seven wins and five podiums, he will be attempting to conclude the year with even more hardware.
Alex Garcia has been able to raise a strong challenge on multiple occasions in the No. 14 Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Si FE1, with four victories and four podiums of his own, and there’s no doubt he’ll be contending for the top spot again.
After previously scoring back-to-back second-place results earlier in Road America, Bruce Myrehn is back on track again in the No. 63 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW. The team is also adding two further entries to complete the grid, with the likes of Alain Lauziere and Andy Sellers in the No. 64 and No. 65 cars.
