- Practice 2 Unofficial Results
The TC America field tackled the Brickyard for one last time on Thursday afternoon for Practice 2. As they set off to put more mileage on their machines around the road course layout, the 30-minute session served as an important time frame for competitors to fine tune their vehicles before race day.
In the end, it was Celso Neto, Scott Thomson, and PJ Groenke who were the fastest in their respective classes, setting expectations for what’s still to come.
TCX Class
Chris Walsh was leading for the majority of the session with his No. 104 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M2 CS (Cup), but Celso Neto jumped ahead of him in the No. 22 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S in the closing minutes to score the fastest time overall.
Aaron Kaplan and Cameron Steller were keeping each other honest yet again as they ran in third and fourth, but this time it was the No. 18 Kaplan Racing Systems BMW M2 CS (Cup) who went faster than the No. 23 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup). Meanwhile, Cooper Broll rounded off the top 5 once more with his No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S.
TC Class
Scott Thomson sped away to the front of the TC class with his No. 66 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro, followed by a sea of Ricca Autosport machines. Connor Attrell was the best performer of the bunch in the afternoon session, finishing second in his No. 75 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC.
Sally McNulty, Jeff Ricca, and Ron Zaras occupied the third, fourth, and fifth positions in their respective No. 780, No. 78, and No. 77 entries, proving that the team is primed for success this weekend.
TCA Class
It was a quick and efficient 30-minute window for that TCA class, as the running order remained consistent from the morning into the afternoon, with PJ Groenke taking claim over the top spot once again on board his No. 62 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW.
As the lone Skip Barber Racing representative, Alex Garcia followed in second in the No. 14 Honda Civic Si FE1, while the rest of the top 5 were all flying the MINI JCW Team banner, as Bruce Myrehn, Alain Lauziere, and Andy Sellers were in tow with the No. 63, No. 64, and No. 65 MINI JCW.
