Vincent/Putt Fastest in TCR/TCR Cup Practice 1, Haldeman tops TCA Charts

PORTLAND, Ore. – Nate Vincent topped the overall TCR/TCA charts for Friday’s practice #1 for the TC America series at Portland International Raceway, part of the 59th Annual Rose Cup Races presented by Fastlife.TV. Bryan Putt was fastest in the TCR Cup class, while Chris Haldeman posted the fastest TCA time.

In the early stages of the session Vincent, in the FCP Euro #72 Golf GTI TCR posted a 1:20.055, with teammate Michael Hurczyn in the team's #71 machine second on the charts with a 1:20.076. James Walker in the #34 Risi Competizione Alfa Romeo Giulietta Walker slotted into third with a 1:21.130.

In TCR Cup, Putt, driver of the #15 ROWE Racing Audi Sport RS3 LMS (DSG) topped the charts with a 1:22.267, while Christian Cole in the #27 McCann Racing Audi Sport RS3 LMS (DSG) slotted into second with a 1:22.541, and Stephen Vajda in the #18 EXR Team by Premat Audi Sport RS3 LMS (DSG) third with a 1:24.236.

With under 10 minutes remaining in the session, Copeland Motorsports' Mason Filippi, driver of the #12 Hyundai Veloster N, jumped to the top with a 1:19.986. Putt improved his time to a 1:21.447. Vincent then popped back on to the top with a 1:19.342.

At the checkered, Vincent’s fast time held, while Hurczyn slotted into second with a 1:19.658. Filippi posted the third fastest time with a 1:19.941.

In TCR Cup, Putt improved to a 1:21.275 to top the charts in class, while Vajda’s 1:21.851 and Cole’s 1:21.866, where second and third fastest respectively.

In TCA, X-Factor Racing’s Chris Haldeman in the #69 Honda Civic Si posted the fastest time of the session with a 1:27.272, ahead of Tyler Maxson, who swept Sonoma with back-to-back wins in the #74 Copeland Motorsports Mazda Global MX5 Cup ND.2 (1:27.685) and P.J. Groenke in the #44 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ tS (1:27.849).

Results are provisional until posted final. On-track action continues Friday at the 12-turn 1.945-mile road course with the second TCR/TCA practice session of the weekend at 12 noon PDT. The first TCR/TCA race is scheduled to start Saturday at 4 pm PDT.  All races will be streamed live on CBS Sports Network coverage for TC America races at Portland airs July 24 starting at 7 pm EDT.
