Ricca Secures First Pole Position of the Season
  • Jeff Ricca Goes Fastest in Qualifying
  • Hyundai, Acura, and Toyota in the Mix
  • Qualifying Results

As the TC America powered by Skip Barber field set off for their first Qualifying session of the season, they had fifteen minutes to set their fastest laps and lock in their starting position ahead of Race 1 on Friday afternoon.

Once the session got underway, Jeff Ricca wasted no time getting up to speed in his No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC, establishing himself as the one to beat early on. He set the best lap time in the early stages of the session and remained at the top of the charts until the checkered flag waved. He will start the opening race of the season from pole position.

Canadian driver PJ Groeke, commanding the No. 76 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, followed suit for a portion of Qualifying, running in second place for a majority of the session. However, the No. 07 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S of Michael Garcia went quickest, relegating Groenke to third place. After utilizing the opening two practice sessions to get reacquainted with the track, Garcia proved himself as a challenger.

Young talent Antonio Costantino, on board the No. 3 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC, claimed fourth place, while CJ Sepulveda in the No. 77 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO rounded off the Top 5.

Antonio Abrom set the sixth-fastest lap time, a mere 0.069 seconds away from 5th place, in his No. 75 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, while the No. 61 Skip Barber Racing Toyota GR Corolla TC of James Klimas qualified in 7th place.

Trouble arose for the No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC  of Jonathan Neudorf as the Canadian youngster didn’t take to the track for the Qualifying session, forcing him to take the start of the race from the back of the field.
