  • Ricca Autosport Rounds Off Top 3
  • Practice 2 Results

Practice 2 for TC America powered by Skip Barber at Virginia International Raceway saw early domination from Hyundai machinery, but it was a Toyota that ultimately stole the spotlight.

Hyundai drivers PJ Groenke and Jeff Ricca came out strong in the opening laps, quickly setting the pace and establishing control at the top of the timesheets. Ricca, at the wheel of the No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo, briefly took over the top spot just 10 minutes into the session.

But it wasn’t long before James Klimas began making his presence felt. Piloting the No. 61 Skip Barber Racing Toyota GR Corolla TC, Klimas steadily worked his way up the order, laying down consistent top-three lap times before slotting into second behind Ricca.

The leaderboard continued to shift in the second half of the session as Jonathan Neudorf surged to the top in his No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC, edging out Groenke by a narrow 0.4-second margin. As the session wore on, Andre Castro climbed to third in the No. 74 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo, bumping team owner Jeff Ricca down to fourth.

By the time the checkered flag flew, Neudorf had secured the fastest lap of the session, thanks to a flying 2:05.668. Ricca managed to reclaim second place, closing the gap to just 0.3 seconds behind the JMF Motorsports driver, while Castro held steady in third.

Practice 2 wrapped up with Toyota and Hyundai trading blows at the top, setting the stage for what promises to be a tightly contested weekend at VIR.
