Neudorf Sweeps the Weekend in Dramatic Rain-Soaked Race 3 at Barber Motorsports Park

The final race of the weekend for TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School delivered a thriller under changing conditions at Barber Motorsports Park, with championship implications hanging in the balance until the very last lap.

At the start, pole sitter and newly crowned 2025 Champion Jeff Ricca kept control of the lead in his No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, while Jonathan Neudorf in the No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC lost second place to Ricca Autosport’s PJ Groenke in the No. 76 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO. From there, the field quickly settled into a consistent rhythm.

Behind the leaders, rookie Alana Carter continued to impress in her TC America debut behind the wheel of the No. 74 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, which was her first time racing a front-wheel drive machine. Showing poise, Carter pressured Neudorf mid-race and attempted an overtake with nine minutes remaining, though was not able to make the pass.

With five minutes to go, the skies opened, rain adding an unpredictable twist to an already fierce battle. Neudorf used the slippery surface to close the gap on Groenke, nearly losing it with a brief off-track excursion before rejoining and continuing his pursuit. In the final minute, he executed a decisive pass on Groenke, a move with major weight in the championship fight.

The closing laps turned chaotic as conditions worsened. Race leader Ricca slid off track, as did Neudorf shortly after, giving Groenke a brief chance to capitalize. However, both Ricca and Neudorf rejoined, but with the rain falling harder, mistakes multiplied. Ricca again slipped wide, and Neudorf charged through, taking the lead in the very last seconds of the race, braving the elements for a photofinish.

In stunning, dramatic fashion, Jonathan Neudorf swept the weekend with three straight wins, crossing the finish line ahead of Ricca and Groenke, who completed the podium.

“At first, I was starting to lose hope at being able to get the weekend sweep,” admitted Jonathan Neudorf. “The Hyundai seemed very fast in the dry, and I just couldn't hang on. Then, when I saw the rainfall, I thought it was my chance. Ricca went off, and I went off, and it was crazy, but we managed to get the win right at the end. It feels amazing. I just want to thank JMF Motorsports, Toyota and everybody involved.
Everyone has worked so hard, so it's great to come home with three wins this weekend.”
