The TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School field hit the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday morning for a fast-paced qualifying session that set the grid for the weekend’s opening race. Under clear skies and cool autumn conditions, drivers wasted no time pushing their limits in the 15-minute session that saw a few lead changes and a strong showing from Toyota machinery.
It was Jonathan Neudorf who emerged on top, setting the benchmark early in the session aboard the No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC. His teammate Antonio Constantino closely followed suit in the No. 3 sister car, making it a JMF Motorsports 1-2 through the opening half of the session.
Dean Lambros, who topped Practice 2 the day prior, briefly interrupted the Toyota lockout with a late flyer in his No. 17 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S, jumping into second place with just over seven minutes remaining. However, Constantino responded in the final laps, reclaiming the spot to secure a front-row sweep for JMF Motorsports.
Behind the lead trio, PJ Groenke delivered a strong performance to go fourth-fastest in his No. 76 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, while James Klimas rounded out the top five in the No. 61 Skip Barber Racing Toyota GR Corolla TC, giving Toyota three entries towards the front of the grid.
The competitive session sets the stage for what promises to be a thrilling weekend of touring car action at the Brickyard, as multiple manufacturers look to end their seasons on a high note.
