Castro Claims Pole Position in Blistering Hot Sebring Qualifying

Hot and sunny conditions greeted the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School field at Sebring International Raceway, setting the tone for a demanding qualifying session. André Castro wasted no time rising to the top, setting a blistering opening lap of 2:21.958 in the No. 77 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo to take provisional pole position.

CJ Sepulveda initially slotted into second place aboard the No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC Evo, but as the session progressed, the field began closing in on Castro’s benchmark.

With seven minutes remaining, Eric Kunz moved into second in the No. 33 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC, sitting just 0.3 seconds off provisional pole. Justin Gravett then made his move in the closing stages, slotting ahead of Kunz by the narrowest of margins to claim second with a 2:22.281, just 0.011 seconds quicker than Kunz’s 2:22.292.

Castro remained unbeaten at the top of the timesheets, securing provisional pole ahead of Gravett and Kunz. Sepulveda completed the session fourth quickest, while Braydon Arthur rounded out the top five in the No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC.
