Bumper Grid For TC America’s Return To COTA

Austin, Texas - TC America returns to racing at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for the second time this season after the cancellation of the Watkins Glen International rounds. 30 cars will line up with the TCR, TC, and TCA competitors going for glory.

A 6 car grid leads in TCR with DXDT Racing bringing three Honda Civic Type-R TCRs. CJ Moses will pilot the #04, Scott Smithson, who won twice at Road America, will drive the #17, with Olivia Askew driving the #29 entry.

KMR Motorsports w/ TMR Engineering will field the #5 Alfa Romeo Giulietta for Roy Block, who currently sits fourth in the championship after finishing third in Road America’s Race 3.

Copeland Motorsports and the dominant Tyler Maxson return with the #74 Hyundai Veloster N. Maxson took the Race 1 victory at Road America, his ninth of the season. 

VGMC Racing will field the #99 Honda Civic Type-R TCR for team owner/driver Victor Gonzalez, who currently sits second in the title hunt.

TC sees a 15-car class with VGMC and Ruben Iglesias in the #8 Honda Civic Type-R TC.

Classic BMW will enter three cars with the #11 BMW M240iR for Phil Bloom, the #26 for Toby Grahovec, who sits third in the championship after taking the Road America Race 3 victory, and the #27 for Bryson Lew. 

Auto Technic Racing brings a three-BMW attack with John Capestro Dubets driving the #20 M240iR, Austen Smith piloting the #21, and Tom Capizzi, fifth in the championship standings, in the #52. 

Hard Motorsport returns with two cars with Vince Piemonte making his series debut in the #30 BMW M240iR, and the #31 BMW M240iR for Johan Schwartz, who currently sits second in the championship and looks to rebound after a tough Race 3 at Road America.

BimmerWorld Racing will field two BMW M240iRs at COTA with championship leader James Clay, who has not finished off the podium this season, driving the #36, and Chandler Hull, fourth in the standings, in the #94.

LA Honda World returns to TC America with a two-car Honda Civic Type-R effort. Mike LaMarra will drive the #37 with the always-quick Mathew Pombo in the #73.

FTG Racing brings the improving Mazda 3 to COTA with Joey Jordan driving the #70 entry. 

GenRacer will field the sole Hyundai Veloster N in the class with Jeff Ricca driving the #78 entry. 

The TCA field brings 10 cars with Boehm Racing bringing the #9 Honda Civic Si for Kevin Boehm, who currently sits second in the championship standings after sweeping the weekend at Road America. 

CB Motorsports returns with Caleb Bacon, currently sixth in the championship, driving the #18 Hyundai Veloster Turbo.

TechSport Racing will field 3 Subaru BRZ tS machines with Kevin Anderson driving the #22, Damon Surzyshyn in the #24, and Ben Bettenhausen in the #28. 

Copeland Motorsports brings the #57 Hyundai Veloster Turbo for Tyler Gonzalez, who currently sits fourth in the title fight after winning three times in 2020.

MINI JCW Team will field 2 MINI Cooper JCWs for championship leader Tomas Mejia piloting the #60, and Mark Pombo, third in the championship, driving the #61.

VGMC Racing returns with the #178 Honda Civic Si for Jonathan Newcombe, who took two podium finishes at Road America to boost himself to fifth in the championship.

CCR Team TFB enters the #186 Honda Civic Si for Roy Fulmer IV.
