Filippi Leads Opening TC America Combined Practice Session From Las Vegas

Mason Filippi and the #12 Copeland Motorsports Hyundai Veloster N TCR lead the opening combined TC America practice session from Las Vegas Motor Speedway with a fastest time of 1:43.115 in the TCR division. 

Michael McCann Jr and the #3 McCann Racing Audi RS3 LMS was second quickest with Victor Gonzalez and the #99 VGMC Racing Honda Civic Type R third.  Nate Vincent and the #72 FCP Euro VW Golf GTI TCR came home with the fourth fastest time, just ahead of his teammate Michael Hurczyn in the #71 FCP Euro VW machine.

Bryan Putt in the #15 BSPort Racing Audi RS3 LMS TCR DSG was quickest of the TCR Cup competitors ahead of Christian Cole and the #27 McCann Racing Audi RS3 LMS DSG and Stephen Vajda in the #18 EXR Team by Premat Audi RS3 LMS DSG.

Bryan Ortiz lead the TCA field with a best time of 1:53.449 in the #70 Copeland Motorsports Mazda Global MX5 Cup with Tyler Maxson and the #74 Copeland Motorsports Mazda Global MX5 Cup running a 1:53.813 fastest lap.  Tomas Mejia and the #62 MINI JCW Team Mini Cooper was third ahead of Mat and Mark Pombo in the #61 and #59 MINI JCW Team Mini Coopers.  Championship leader Nick Wittmer and the #91 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ tS was sixth quickest in class.

Recently-crowned champ Johan Schwartz was on top of the TC division after posting a fastest lap of 1:48.285 in the #80 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M240iR Cup car.  Robert Nimkoff in the #20 Auto Technic Racing BMW M240iR was second quickest in class with a 1:48.296 fastest lap.  Austen Smith and the #90 Dasboot Motorsports BMW M240iR went third quickest followed by Jeff Ricca’s #78 GenRacer Hyundai Veloster and Tom Capizzi in the #52 Auto Technic Racing BMW M240iR rounding out the top five. 

TC America TC practice 2 begins on Friday, October 18th at 8:50am PT with TCR/TCA practice 2 rolling at 10:40am PT.
