With the First Race Nerves Behind Him, Luke Lange Travels West to Sonoma
It was a new set of experiences for Luke Lange during rounds three, four and five of the TC America TCA season as the longtime karter made the move to full-time cars with the Copeland Motorsports squad. Piloting a Hyundai Veloster, Lange secured a top-five result in his first event weekend at the Virginia International Raceway and now has his sights set firmly set on the podium at Sonoma Raceway.

"It was my first TCA event and my first wheel-to-wheel race at VIR," explained Luke Lange, driver of the #50 Luke's Fast Breaks Copeland Motorsports entry. "Practice went well. but I have to admit I was a little nervous right before qualifying and racing. Now knowing what to expect, I have better prepared myself and look forward to challenging at the front of the field."

Despite not partaking in the first two rounds of the 2020 championship, Lange scored points in all three races in Virginia and catapulted up the championship point standings to seventh.

"Luke performed very well in his first event," added Copeland Motorsports Team Owner Dean Copeland. "Anytime you take a driver from karts to cars and throw them into a race, you never know what to expect. Luke had less than six test days and one race weekend prior to competing at VIR, and he was able to show speed right away. I am confident that he will be challenging for race wins in the very near future."

Lange added, "It is a steep learning curve, but I am up for the challenge. Thank you to all of the people that are behind me and pushing me to the front."

Luke Lange and his Copeland Motorsports entry will take to the track on Wednesday for an important Promoters Test Day as he looks to come to grip with a facility that he has yet to race on. Thursday's schedule provides another opportunity for practice while Friday will be the one and only qualifying session before three wheel-to-wheel races throughout the weekend. Stay tuned to the Luke Lange Racing social media pages for news, photos, results and information from the event.
