Alton, Virginia - Championship leader Jacob Ruud broke the 2-minute mark in qualifying with a 1:59.564 best lap to snag the TCX and overall pole for Saturday afternoon’s Round 5 in the #81 Classic BMW M2 CS Cup machine. Steve Streimer, who paced the opening practice session of the weekend, was .442 seconds behind in the #30 Hard Motorsports entry and will start second with the #104 AOA Racing BMW of Chris Walsh starting third in his debut. 

Austen Smith, running the #51 Auto Technic Racing BMW M240iR, took the TC class pole after a 2:03.172 best lap, a mere .011 seconds ahead of his teammate Tom Capizzi and the #52 Auto Technic BMW. Mark Pombo and the #60 MINI JCW Team Mini Cooper will start third in class.

Michael Carter and the #22 TechSport Racing Toyota 86 will start from the TCA-class pole after posting a 2:10.160 flier which was just .059 seconds ahead of PJ Groenke’s #25 Toyota. Championship leader Caleb Bacon, who swept the weekend at COTA last month, will start third in the #18 Forbush Performance Hyundai Veloster Turbo.
