Wet Conditions Dampen TC Afternoon Practice

ALTON, Va. - Adverse weather restricted track time in Friday’s second practice session for this weekend’s TC America TC championship round at Virginia International Raceway.

Two cars tested the waters during the rain-affected 35-minute session which came a few hours after Johan Schwartz paced a dry opening practice run on Friday morning.

Schwartz’s championship co-leader Jeff Ricca registered the quickest Practice 2 time of 2:21.210 behind the wheel of the #78 GenRacer Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

He was followed by Moisey Uretsky who guided the #55 Murillo Racing BMW235iR Cup around the 3.27-mile VIR circuit in a time of 2:23.102 through the challenging conditions.

The rest of the 14-car field chose to weather the storm and use the session as time to prepare their cars for the third race of the season on Saturday.

Clearer skies are forecast for when the TC cars return to action tomorrow morning for the first of two 15-minute qualifying sessions at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
