Ruud, Barbato, Williams Claim TC America Class Poles at Damp IMS

Indianapolis, Ind - Friday’s Qualifying for the penultimate round of TC America competition took place under damp, sprinkling skies at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on the 2.6 mile, 13 turn-road course in Speedway, Indiana. 

Classic BMW’s Jacob Ruud continued with his speed from Thursday’s practice sessions and led the way overall and in class with a flying lap of 1:55.092 in the #81 BMW. 

The TC division saw the #88 Genracer Hyundai Veloster N TC of Nicholas Barbato claim class pole after posting a 1:56.748 fastest lap, good enough for an impressive second overall.

Clay Williams and the #62 MINI JCW Team Mini Cooper grabbed the top spot in TCA with a 2:03.088 lap time, a mere .079 seconds ahead of Jose Blanco’s #99 VGMC Racing Honda Civic Si.
