Alton, Virginia - TC America presented by Skip Barber Racing School continued on through its third race weekend of the year, with some change-ups in top times throughout each of its three action-packed classes. With increasing ambient and track temps, lap times slowed down just a hair.
In TCX class, multiple 2022 season race winner Jacob Ruud claimed the quickest time of the session for Fast Track Racing in the #1 BMW M2 CS (Cup) with a 2:00.881, while Stephen Cugliari of Accelerating Performance maintained his second spot in the #57 car with a 2:01.335. The third-fastest time of 2:02.070 was set by Colin Garrett in the #44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW, down a few seconds from his best lap this morning.
TC saw a bit of a change-up with Jeff Ricca of GenRacer/Ricca Autosport setting a blistering 2:06.355 in his Hyundai Veloster N DCT. 0.029 seconds behind him was Matthew Ibrahim in the #06 DRS & Garagistic BMW M240iR (*2019 EVO) with a 2:06.384, an improvement over his best time in Practice Session 1. Finally, Kevin Boehm rounded out the top three with a 2:06.539 in his #9 Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Type R.
In TCA, Christian Perocarpi claimed the quickest lap in his #61 MINI John Cooper Works Team JCW, laying down a 2:11.487, faster than every TCA lap during the morning practice session. The second-fastest lap of 2:11.704 was claimed by Sonoma and NOLA Race 2 winner Gresham Wagner in his #21 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ, followed by Carter Fartuch in the #16 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si with a 2:12.544.
Qualifying begins at 8:30 AM Eastern on Saturday the 18th.
