Watkins Glen, New York - The TC America powered by Skip Barber series had their second and final practice session of the day, red-flagged due to lightning around Watkins Glen but later resumed for 15 minutes. With humidity in the air and storm clouds brewing overhead, Friday afternoon’s final practice session was the last chance for teams to tweak their set-ups ahead of Saturday’s early morning qualifying session.

TCX

In TCX class, Colin Garrett set a flying last lap that promoted him to first in his #44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) machine, leading reigning Champion Jacob Ruud by only 0.521 in his #1 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup). Lucas Catania, piloting his #26 Rigid Speed BMW M2 CS (Cup), set the third fastest lap time of the session, only 0.296 off from second.

TC

With only 15 minutes of clear track time, it was a race against the clock to set the best lap possible. Clay Williams prevailed once again in the TC class, clocking in a blistering lap time of 2:062.80 in his #60 JCW Team MINI TC. Nicholas Barbato, commanding the #88 Genracer/Ricca Autosport Hyundai Veloster N, finished second in the final practice session of the day, leading Matthew Ibrahim and his DRS & Garagistic BMW M240iR by only 0.779. Matthew claimed his first TC podium finish of the season at NOLA.

TCA

In TCA, Spencer Bucknum set the fastest lap time in his #5 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Si, ahead of three-time race winner Gresham Wagner and his #21 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ. A mere 0.056 separated Wagner from third place Cristian Perocarpi in his #61 JCW Team MINI JCW.

Qualifying starts at 8:30 AM ET on Saturday, followed by Race 1 at 1:10 PM ET.
