Sebring, Florida - As the warm sunshine beamed over Sebring International Raceway, the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School drivers took to the Florida track on Friday morning for the first practice session of the day. The challenging 3.741 miles track is the host of the sixth event of the 2022 season, putting drivers to the test across all 17 turns.

A red flag cut the first practice session short, but drivers continued to swap positions and maintained tight gaps with each other, indicating that there will be tough competition to step on to the podium this weekend.

TCX

Lucas Catania topped the leaderboard for the majority of the session in his #26 Rigid Speed BMW M2 CS (Cup). Runner-up in the first practice session was Colin Garrett, who was a mere 0.704 seconds behind in his #44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup). Garrett currently sits second in the championship and will be looking to score big at Sebring in order to tighten up the title fight. Garrett Adams sat slightly further behind in third. The #54 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) finished the shortened session 2.216 seconds behind the leader. Championship leader Jacob Ruud (#1 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup)) completed the fewest laps within the TCX class, and will be aiming for a more successful second practice session later this afternoon.

Boehm has 6 wins under his belt this season and will be looking to secure another at Sebring in order to extend his championship lead. Mathew Ibrahim followed closely behind in his #6 DRS & Garagistic BMW M240iR. Rounding out the Top 3 was the #8 VGRT Racing Team Honda Civic Type-R driven by Celso Neto with a time of 2.25.087.

Road America winner Cristian Perocarpi was following closely in his #61 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW. The young driver will be looking to carry that winning momentum into Sebring this weekend as well. Carter Fartuch, the current leader in the TCA class, finished third in the first practice session. With three wins so far this season, Fartuch will be the one to watch in the #16 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si as he seeks to add another podium to his tally.
