Indianapolis, Indiana -  As the sun was shining bright overhead, the TC America powered by Skip Barber field took over the Brickyard this Thursday afternoon for the second practice session. Thirty-three cars, scattered throughout the TCX, TC and TCA classes, had one last chance to make adjustments to their setups ahead of the qualifying session on Friday morning.

TCX

Colin Garrett (#44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) set the pace in the TCX class, with points leader Jacob Ruud (#1 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) a mere 0.465 behind. Lucas Catania (#26 Rigid Speed BMW M2 CS (Cup) was third fastest, leading Garrett Adams (#54 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup) and Chris Walsh (#38 STR38 Motorsports BMW M2 CS (Cup) who rounded up the Top 5 in the newly formed outfit.

Brett Scroggin (#51 Homewrecker Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup)) was not able to cling on to the fastest lap time that he set at the beginning of the season and finished the session in 6th place.

TC

2022 TC class Champion Kevin Boehm (#9 CrowdStrike Racing by Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Type-R) was fastest once again at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, ahead of Mathew Ibrahim (#6 DRS & Garagistic BMW M240iR) by only 0.642.

Mazda made an appearance in the Top 3 thanks to Joey Jordan’s 1:39.770 lap time in his #70 FTG Racing Mazda 3.

TCA

The first half of the session was dominated by local hero Cristian Perocarpi in his #61 JCW Team MINI. The Indiana native was later dethroned by Carter Fartuch (#16 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si), who is currently tied in the championship points with Gresham Wagner (#21 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ). Wagner clinched the third fastest lap time of the session behind Canadian PJ Groenke (#62 JCW Team MINI).

“It’s awesome to be back at the Speedway,” said Cristian Perocarpi after the session. “This is my third time racing here, and it’s my home track. The venue is a lot of fun, it’s iconic, and it’s an honor even to be here. Hopefully, we can keep the momentum going. The chicane coming on the back straight will be a lot of fun because you come in carrying speed and that’s my favorite section of the track. Our MINI is well-balanced, it is doing very well around the track and we won here last year, so we should be doing very well once again.”

Qualifying starts at 8:00 AM ET on Friday, followed by Race 1 at 1:00 PM ET.
