As the Operation Motorsport (OpMo) team prepares for their fifth Race of Remembrance on November 11-13, we salute the SRO racers and partners who are a part of this amazing event.
The Operation Motorsport mission is to engage, through Motorsport opportunities, medically retiring or retired Service Members, affected by military service, aiding in their recovery.
Front and center from the SRO paddock in Anglesey Wales UK will be three key people from the Skip Barber Racing School (SBRS). 2022 TC America Champion Kevin Boehm, SRBS Lead Instructor Mike Stillwagon, and Ace SBRS Team Manager Adam Roberts.
OpMo CEO & Founder Diezel Lodder -- “Going back to Anglesey Circuit where the seed for Operation Motorsport was first planted by our friends at Mission Motorsport. Reflecting on what we’ve achieved, in five short years as a Foundation, it all seems a little surreal at times”, says OpMo CEO & Cofounder Diezel Lodder. “I couldn’t be prouder of this team for never losing sight of the mission through the mountains of challenges along the way. Thank you to all of our partners and supporters who have stood with us, we wouldn’t be here without you.”
Kevin Boehm -- “We’ve known about Race of Remembrance since we started working with Operation Motorsport in 2020, and we have always dreamed of participating. Thanks to our partnership with AWS and our shared vision for helping wounded warriors, that dream will become a reality. Many of the beneficiaries we have worked with over the last few years will be attending as well. We are excited to see them in action in new, challenging roles within the team.”
Mike Stillwagon – “Skip Barber Racing asked me to represent the company as one of the American drivers, and I’m happy and grateful to take part. This is a special weekend to honor our veterans, which I am both passionate and proud of. The best thank you I can give them is to represent and win the race!”

Race of Remembrance History
It was at Birmingham, Autosport International in January 2014, where a hasty conversation between a Tankie - James Cameron and Jon Earp an Army Helicopter Pilot, and a former Scots Guards Officer who was the circuit manager at Anglesey was had discussing a way in which the Motorsport and Forces community could come together to celebrate the Remembrance weekend.
Initially conceived as just a track day, the idea grew and the charity alongside a committed army of volunteers was able to stage an endurance race with a memorial service in November and thus the Race of Remembrance was born.
Now in its eighth year, the 12-hour race run through the night over two days has grown beyond anybody’s wildest imaginations with a starting grid double the size of the first event. As the event has evolved, becoming bigger and better, the profoundly moving and poignant Service of Remembrance remains at the heart of the event.
It is our collective opportunity to reflect on the sacrifice of so many of our own friends and colleagues in recent conflicts, and of those that have gone before.
