The TC America powered by Skip Barber series is eight rounds deep in competition. The series has three dates remaining on the 2023 calendar and in those dates, six rounds of racing. The TCA Class has been ultra-competitive as drivers fight for a championship.
Devin Anderson leads the pack with 142 points earned in the No. 22 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ. He swept the weekend at Sonoma Raceway and won Race One at Circuit Of The Americas and Race One at VIRginia International Raceway. In between wins, Anderson has also taken home two podium finishes.
“I believe I’m in a highly competitive car and I have the experience to make a championship happen,” Anderson said. “The key to me winning the Driver’s Championship is clean driving and maintaining the car perfectly for the remainder of the year.”
Behind Anderson in the championship is Spencer Bucknum in second with 137 points. He swept the weekend at NOLA Motorsports Park winning Race One and Race Two in the No. 5 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Si FE1. Bucknum has yet to finish in a position that doesn’t land him on the podium. Along with two wins he has four second-place finishes and one third-place finish.
In third place of the Driver Points Championship is William Lambros. Lambros has accumulated 112 points. He won Race One at VIR and has earned three, second-place finishes and one third-place finish in the seven races he’s competed in with the No. 77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE1.
Shaoyi Che sits in fourth place in the standings with 94 points to his name. He’s been a strong competitor, earning three podium finishes in the No. 23 TechSport Racing Subaru BRZ. He took home third in both races at Sonoma Raceway and second place in Race One at VIR. His VIR podium will stand out for a lifetime as he proposed to his now fiancé.
P.J. Groenke is never to be overlooked as he sits in fifth with 82 points in his No. 62MINI JCW Team Mini JCW. In the six races he’s competed in he has taken home a win and podium finish. He won Race Two at VIR and Race One at NOLA. He narrowly missed podium finishes at Sonoma Raceway and Race One at COTA.
Sixth place through eighth all sit within three points of each other. Cooper Broll has 56 points in sixth position. Ruben Iglesias Jr. has earned 54 points in six races and is seventh overall. Mario Biundo has competed in six races earning 53 points with one third-place finish at COTA.
Alain Lauziere sits in ninth place with 21 points after competing at Sonoma Raceway and COTA. Eric Rockwell is in 10th position with 14 points after competing at VIR. Finally, Landon Lewis earned three points at Sonoma Raceway and is 11th in the points standings.
