TC America Powered by Skip Barber Raises the Stakes in Practice Two at Road America

As the intense afternoon sun continued to beam down over Road America, the TC America Powered by Skip Barber field returned to the track for Practice Two for another 30 minute session. 

Although there was a brief red flag at the very start of the session, the majority of Practice Two ran uninterrupted, with drivers utilizing every possible minute to maximize their time on track ahead of tomorrow morning’s qualifying session. A second red flag emerged with just over 5 minutes remaining, with the session returning to green with just over 2 minutes to go. 

TCX

The TCX class continued to shake things up as drivers continued to test their limits, with numerous competitors vying for that top spot. Dai Yoshihara went on to replicate his performance from the morning session, setting another rapid time of 2:23.968 in his No. 99 VGRT Honda Civic Type-R to solidify his spot at the top of the leaderboard. 

Matthew Pombo raised a challenge of his own, and went on to finish second overall in the No. 73 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Type-R, with Colin Garrett boosting himself up to a third place finish in his No. 44 Rooster Hall Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup). 

The Top 5 was completed by Adam Gleason in the No. 21 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup), followed by Kenny Schmied in the No. 14 AOA Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup). 

TC

After finishing runner-up in the morning practice session, Jeff Rica was striving for the top of the leaderboard this afternoon. Once he took the lead, he never looked back, going on to set a rapid lap time of 2:27.096 in his No. 78 Genracer / Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TC to secure the best time in class. 

The MINI JCW Team had another strong showing as teammates Cristian Perocarpi and Clayton Williams laid down the second and third fastest lap times in the No. 37 and No. 60 Mini JCW Pro TC. 

Celso Neto had a solid afternoon session, claiming fourth place in the No. 7 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Type-R, with Sally McNulty wrapping up her day with another Top 5 finish in her No. 780 Genracer Hyundai Veloster N DCT TC. 

TCA

P.J. Groenke soared to the top of the timesheets in the TCA class, maneuvering his No. 62 MINI JCW Team Mini JCW throughout the corners with finesse and precision. Meanwhile, TechSport Racing further improved as Shaoyi Che claimed the second-fastest time in his No. 23 Subaru BRZ, one spot ahead of teammate Devin Anderson in the No. 22 sister machine. 

Spencer Bucknum closed out the session in fourth place in his No. 5 LA Honda World Racing Honda Civic Si FE1, with William Lambros concluding the day with another Top 5 finish in his No. 77 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Si FE1.
