- Final Qualifying Results
Friday morning saw the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School drivers set sail around the Speedway for their final Qualifying session of the 2024 season, all vying to earn the best starting positions to increase their chances of winning and getting to kiss the bricks.
Celso Neto went fastest overall during the session, claiming the TCX pole position. Jeff Ricca had a strong showing, not only claiming the TC pole position but also setting the fourth-fastest time across the board. PJ Groenke continued his successful streak and set the tone in the TCA class, earning another front row start.
TCX Class
It was an Acura vs BMW showdown in the TCX class, but it was Celso Neto in his No. 22 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S who ultimately prevailed and clinched pole position. Chris Walsh had stellar lap times as well throughout the session, but was not able to beat out Neto. The 2024 TCX Champion will start from second place in his No. 104 Carrus Callas Raceteam BMW M2.
Cooper Broll had a great session too, showing strong pace as he continued to improve. His No. 19 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type S will start from the second row in third place alongside the No. 18 Kaplan Racing Systems BMW M2 CS of Aaron Kaplan. Furthermore, Cameron Stellar made another top 5 appearance in class with his No. 23 Fast Track Racing BMW M2 CS (Cup).
TC Class
Jeff Ricca made another strong impression in his No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC, as the TC championship winner not only secured pole position in class, but also locked in the fourth-quickest time overall in the session.
It was another good day for the Ricca Autosport fleet, as Connor Attrell, Sally McNulty, and Ron Zaras all saw themselves in the top 5, sitting second, fourth, and fifth respectively in their No. 75, No. 780, and No. 76 entries. They were only separated by Cristian Perocarpi in third place in the No. 37 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW TC Pro.
TCA Class
As he has done nearly all season long, PJ Groenke made his way to the very front of the TCA leaderboard once again, securing another pole position for himself in his No. 62 MINI JCW Team MINI JCW. Alex Garcia claimed the second-best time in class on board his No. 14 Skip Barber Racing Honda Civic Si FE1.
The remaining MINI JCW Team drivers followed suit, with Alain Lauziere and Bruce Myrehn lining up behind in the No. 64 and No. 63 cars, with the top 5 being completed by Andy Sellers in the No. 65 MINI machine.
