Ricca Leads the Charge in TC America Practice 1
  • 2024 Champion Jeff Ricca Tops the Charts
  • Hyundai and Toyota Battle It Out in the Top 5
  • Practice 1 Results

A new chapter for the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing championship officially kicked off as the field took to the track for Practice 1 at Sonoma Raceway. The sun broke through the rain clouds for the opening 25 minute session, with the streamlined TC class putting their machinery to the test.

It was a battle between Hyundai and Toyota, with last year’s TC champion Jeff Ricca going toe to toe with JMF Motorsports’ Jonathan Neudorf for the top spot on the leaderboard. The two exchanged fastest laps throughout the session, but in the closing laps, it was the former who went quickest in the No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC.

The margins were tight between the frontrunners, with only 0.04 seconds separating them as the session came to a close. Neudorf had the upper hand in the first two sectors in his No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC, but Ricca’s rapid third sector gave him a slight edge.

Ricca Autosport teammates Antonio Abrom and CJ Sepulveda wrapped up Practice 1 in third and fourth, starting off the season showing their strengths in their new No. 75 and No. 77 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO entries.

Newcomer and Formula 1600 alumn Antonio Costantino rounded off the Top 5 in his No. 3 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC, showcasing that the team is familiarizing themselves quickly in the field as they continue to expand their presence across multiple series.
