Ricca Claims Pole as Ogren Disrupts Hyundai Sweep in Sebring Qualifying

Under blistering skies at Sebring International Raceway, qualifying for TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing kicked off a full day of racing. The iconic bumps were no match for Jeff Ricca. Behind the wheel of his No. 78 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, he wasted no time stamping his authority on the session, setting the benchmark lap with a 2:21.089 that would ultimately stand unbeaten.

Mike Ogren, flying the flag for Acura and Skip Barber Racing in the No. 07 Integra Type S, slotted into second early on, with Ricca Autosport’s Eric Kunz holding third in the initial stages. But as the clock ticked down, the fight for the front rows heated up.

With eight minutes remaining, PJ Groenke made a push in the No. 76 Ricca Autosport Hyundai, jumping to second on the charts and looking to lock out the front row for the Hyundai squad. However, Ogren had other plans. In the final moments of the session, he clawed his way back to second, splitting the Ricca Autosport front-runners and becoming the only non-Hyundai driver to break into the Top 6.

Groenke settled for third, with CJ Sepulveda putting the No. 74 Ricca Autosport Hyundai fourth on the grid. Canadian Eric Kunz, after an early strong showing, rounded out the Top 5 in his No. 77 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO.
