Neudorf Denies Ricca in Race 2 Thriller at Barber Motorsports Park

The TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School field put on a show in Race 2 at the UAB Medicine GT World Alabama benefiting Teal Wings of Hope, with the young Canadian Jonathan Neudorf proving he’s more than ready to take the fight to the series’ established stars.

When the lights went out, Neudorf wasted no time asserting control, vaulting his No. 4 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC into the lead with newly-crowned 2025 Champion Jeff Ricca glued to his rear bumper in the No. 78 Ricca Autosport Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO.

Behind the lead pair, Ricca Autosport filled the next three positions with Eric Kunz running third in the No. 77 Hyundai, PJ Groenke fourth in the No. 76 entry, and Connor Attrell rounding out the top five in the No. 75 Hyundai. Remarkably, four of the top five were Canadian drivers, showcasing the nation’s strength in the TC America paddock.

Neudorf tried to stretch his advantage in the opening stages, but Ricca refused to let him get away, keeping the pressure on the JMF Motorsports driver. Further back, Groenke slipped past Kunz for third and immediately opened a small gap. Kunz then came under heavy fire from teammate Attrell, who executed a decisive move to secure fourth place.

The final laps delivered more excitement as Jame Klimas in the No. 61 Skip Barber Racing Toyota GR Corolla TC and Ricca Autosport’s Alana Carter in the No. 74 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO locked horns in a thrilling scrap for sixth. Carter ultimately prevailed, adding to Ricca Autosport’s tally of strong results.

At the checkered flag, it was Jonathan Neudorf standing tall, claiming a commanding victory ahead of Jeff Ricca in second place. P.J. Groenke capped off his strong run with third, while Connor Attrell and Eric Kunz completed the top five.

“It was exhausting getting out of the GT4 car and hopping into the TC car with only 5 minutes between both races,” explained Jonathan Neudorf, who is completing double duty in Pirelli GT4 America and TC America. “But, luckily this car has great ventilation, so it was good to get some fresh air. It feels great to get two wins in a row, the goal is to get the weekend sweep tomorrow.”
