Championship Leader Castro Scores Pole Position in Indy Qualifying

It was a bright and early start for the TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School field as they set off for the fifteen-minute Qualifying session at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to set the grid ahead of Race 1 to come later in the afternoon. With only two rounds remaining and all championships still left to be decided, every position mattered, as every little advantage could turn out to be crucial.

Ricca Autosport’s Andre Castro picked up right where he left off, securing back-to-back ROWE Pole Position Awards in his No. 77 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO. With a time of 1:36.002, he put himself exactly where he wanted to be, with a P1 starting position that he will be aiming to convert into another victory to extend his championship points lead.

Lining up alongside Castro on the front row is Ricca Autosport teammate Justin Gravett in the No. 8 Hyundai, who is also in the fight in the Hyundai N Trophy Cup standings. After scoring multiple podium finishes throughout the season, he is still on the hunt for his first victory.

Championship contender Braydon Arthur, who currently sits second in the standings, will start directly behind Castro in third position on the second row of the grid. The JMF Motorsports driver relinquished the points lead in the previous rounds at Barber Motorsports Park, but is still well within striking distance to reclaim the top spot at Indianapolis in his No. 4 Toyota GR Corolla TC.

The top five was further completed by Michai Stephens in the sister No. 3 JMF Motorsports Toyota, and Dean Lambros, who made his third appearance of the weekend so far at the pointier end of the field with his No. 7 Skip Barber Racing Acura Integra Type-S DE5 after strong performances in Practice 1 and 2.
