Andre Castro Joins Early Season Effort in TC America
Ricca Autosport is proud to announce that Andre Castro will return to TC America competition as part of the official SRO Hyundai USA partner team for the upcoming season.
Born and raised in New York City, Castro is a first-generation Colombian-American who has raced under both the American and Colombian flags since the age of seven. A graduate of the University of Chicago with a BA in Economics, Castro has also proudly carried the university’s branding throughout his racing career.
Castro first emerged onto the international stage after earning the prestigious Team USA Scholarship in 2021. His career progression led him to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he made two starts in 2023, two more in 2024, and another appearance last season. While continuing to pursue opportunities across multiple disciplines, Castro was introduced to Ricca Autosport in 2025, when team owner Jeff Ricca invited him to compete at VIRginia International Raceway in July.
Despite it being his first-ever start in a TC car, Castro delivered an impressive double podium performance, finishing second in both races that weekend. That breakout performance opened additional doors within the Hyundai racing ladder.
Beyond real-world competition, Castro is also deeply involved in sim racing. He operates the online team BS+HYBRID alongside drivers Jaden Conwright and Morgan Burkhard and credits simulator training as a key component of his development.
“I’m mainly a race fan—I love racing, and I’ll do anything to get into a car,” said Castro. “I’ve only been able to run two or three races a year at times, so sim racing has been a huge tool for improvement. I’m incredibly grateful to Hyundai, GenRacer, and my partners Borkan & Scahill L TD and Olivia Racing for making these opportunities possible.”
For his TC America return, Castro will pilot a special “throwback” livery inspired by the 2019 GenRacer Hyundai Genesis Coupe program, paying tribute to Hyundai’s modern touring car roots.
“Andre is really fast, and I think it will be exciting to see him fight for strong results for both the team and Hyundai this season,” said Jeff Ricca, Team Owner of Ricca Autosport.
In preparation for the season, Castro recently participated in a week-long performance training camp in New York City alongside fellow Hyundai drivers, including teammates Matan Rosenberg and Eric Kunz, where Hyundai and SportsLab put the group through intensive strength and conditioning sessions.
With proven speed, versatility across disciplines, and a growing presence within the Hyundai ecosystem, Castro’s return to TC America adds further depth to Ricca Autosport’s championship ambitions.
