Braydon Arthur Claims TC America Pole at COTA

Provisional Qualifying Results

Qualifying for TC America powered by Skip Barber took place on Friday at Circuit of the Americas, where Braydon Arthur continued his strong form from practice by putting JMF Motorsports on pole position for the opening race of the weekend.

Arthur, at the wheel of the No. 4 Toyota GR Corolla TC, laid down a best lap of 2:24.773 to secure the top spot in the provisional qualifying results. After leading both practice sessions on Thursday, the JMF Motorsports driver once again delivered when it counted, giving the team the prime starting position for Race 1.

The battle behind him was tightly contested, with Dean Lambros earning the outside front-row starting spot for Skip Barber Racing in the No. 7 Acura Integra Type-S DE5. Lambros turned in a lap of 2:25.297, just 0.524 seconds shy of Arthur’s benchmark. Ricca Autosport’s Andre Castro followed closely in third with a 2:25.366 in the No. 77 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO, keeping the pressure on in a session where the top three were separated by less than six-tenths of a second.

Ricca Autosport continued to show its depth throughout the session, placing Justin Gravett fourth in the No. 8 Hyundai Elantra N1 TC EVO/VO with a 2:25.658. Mike Lamarra rounded out the top five for Precision Racing LA in the No. 73 Acura Integra Type-S DE5, less than 1.5 seconds off pole. Eric Kunz added another Ricca Autosport entry inside the top six, while Logan Anderson put a second Skip Barber Racing Acura in seventh.

Further down the order, CJ Sepulveda and PJ Groenke gave Ricca Autosport two more cars in the top 10 with eighth and ninth, respectively, while Shelby Mills completed the top 10 for Fawn Group MS by Ricca Autosport. Robert Bellevue qualified 11th for DRS in the BMW M2 Racing. Jesse Dorkin was listed on the results sheet in the No. 3 JMF Motorsports Toyota GR Corolla TC, but did not post a qualifying time.

With Arthur converting his practice pace into pole position, JMF Motorsports heads into Race 1 with momentum on its side. But with Lambros, Castro and a stacked group of Hyundai and Acura contenders close behind, the stage is set for a hard-fought TC America battle at COTA.
